Crop tops are all the rage right now. I haven’t seen a single young, hot, fashionista blogger who haven’t done their own renditions of a crop top style. Lets be real, certain bodies (young, hot, fit) have the born rights to wear crop tops, if you got them abs, why not flaunt away!! I happen to like crop tops very much and in my (young, hot, fit) days I used to wear a few myself #humblebrag, but now it doesn’t seem quite appropriate to be flashing my long-work-in-progress ab-lets. That said, I have ventured into a bold territory – mixing crop tops into work attire!! How do you make a very popular summer trend to be age, body type and work appropriate? Allow me to demonstrate!
One way to pair a crop top for work is by wearing high-waist skirts or pants. A nicely tailored high waist pencil skirt can not only slim your figure, gives you a refine and polished look, but also elongate your lines. This works especially well with a right crop top. The short top and longer skirt instantly make your legs look like they run for miles. By wearing the high waist, you are no longer showing the midriffs even if you lift up your arms. I like this black and white Evil Twin top, the color and fabric is very versatile for casual or dressy. One can easily work a midi skirt, high waist skinny jeans or even shorts with this piece.
I’m wearing this office look with my H&M dark gray pencil skirt and a pair of hot pink heels to give the look a pop of color. Work can be stressful and those pop of colors can lift your mood and pump you up when you feel frazzled. My sentiment to high heels at work: “Give a girl the right pair of heels and she can conquer the world” especially when it is eye catching like freesia. So who cays you can’t wear crop top to work? We can definitely make it work and work it well.
