As much of a minimalist I am with my everyday outfits (black, white, grey, neutrals) I do love a dramatic red dress. One that brings out all the spotlight and captures everyone’s attention the minute you enter the room. One that exudes femininity and fierceness and power. One that makes you feel like a princess and goddess at the same time. I have a few red dresses, be it professional, minimal, sleek or flowy, but none gives off the same feeling as this dress by Michael Costello for Revolve. It was the dream dress for people who loves drama.
This dress is made out of chiffon with a very high slits in the front to show off those gem and lace trim inlay on the top. Dramatic low cut back with spaghetti straps and ribbon ties in the back of the empire waist cut. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it on the website. Took this dress to my fancy 21 course dinner at é by José Andrés while we were in Las Vegas and I can say that as we walk on the casino floors trying to get to the restaurant, I haven’t been blatantly ogled by men and women alike….um ever and it felt pretty damn great!
So this holiday season, be a little bold, show off a little, wear a bright red dress. It will really build your confidence, makes you livelier and more sociable. I have rounded up some of the dresses I really liked while browsing the internet. There are a few that is under $150, or even $100 and makes a great office party dress with clean lines and simple style. While others are more elaborate and dramatic and makes a fabulous holiday dinner dress.
