Happy Friday everyone! It’s been two weeks since we’ve got back from Colorado and today I’m going to cover our traveling experience at the last leg of our trip – St. Julien Hotel & Spa in Boulder Colorado. When you think of Boulder, Colorado, you think of it as a college town centered around collegiate lifestyle. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Forbes Four Star hotel with award winning Spa service and the amount of pampering I received there was nothing short of spectacular.
A little brief knowledge bout St Julien Hotel & Spa: Named among the “Top 25 Continental U.S. Large City Hotels” in the 2015 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, and “The #14 Best Hotel in the West” by Conde Nast Traveler in their 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards – aims to expand its awareness beyond the Boulder market and elevate its profile amongst affluent, seasoned travelers in key fly-to markets, with an eye for style and an appreciation for detail.
Owned by Boulder locals, the award-winning St Julien Hotel & Spa offers its guests genuine hospitality and four-star, four-diamond service within a casually elegant setting. Located just 45 minutes from Denver, the hotel features 201 guest rooms, the 10,000-sq. ft. Spa at St Julien and fitness facility. The Terrace at St Julien showcases one of the most breathtaking views of Boulder’s famous Flatiron Rock formations with the Rocky Mountains in the backdrop. An industry leader in sustainability, St Julien’s in-house Green Team sets and achieves various environmental goals, including minimizing overall waste and utilizing eco-friendly products and practices.
Afternoon Tea Service at St Julien
When you stay at the St. Julien, there are two things you MUST experience. The first is their Afternoon Tea service which only occurs on every Saturday from 2-4PM and it is really popular with the locals. The Afternoon Tea at St Julien is not your traditional tea; the property prides itself on offering a modern experience. Live entertainment is accompanied by hand-crafted pastries, sandwiches and sweets designed seasonally by St Julien’s own pastry team. We had the pleasure of having a live Cellist during our tea service and she played Air on G which is one of my favorite. The service team is absolutely impeccable when it comes to making sure every guest however young or small is happy with their food.
Spa at St Julien
Award-winning Spa at St Julien offers a treatment specific to the Boulder lifestyle, the Boulder Rebuilder. I had the Boulder Rebuilder the day after I hiked the Flatiron mountain and I was amazed that all of my aches and pains melted disappeared after my treatment. My spa treatment begin with quick dry brushing preps the skin for the all-over application of organic Arnica Oil. Arnica, long known for its therapeutic benefits, is perfect for healing tired, sore and bruised muscles. The Arnica Gel is then applied to targeted areas to enhance muscle repair. Finish with a 80-minute deep tissue massage, your whole body will thank you!
Besides the top notch massage therapy, the Spa facility boast one of the most beautiful indoor lap pool and hot tub I have seen! There is a waterfall cascading down from the boulder rocks on the wall into the whirlpool of hot relaxing bubbly water, instant relaxation of the mind and body. The Spa also has sauna and steam room along with a tranquil waiting room stocked with organic tea and healthy snacks. My personal favorite is the ice bucket that holds the towels for you to put on your face after a sauna or steam treatment. It feels so refreshing and so good and shows the attention to details of the St. Julien Spa.
Well, there you go guys, my in-depth review of the St. Julien Hotel & Spa. With a prime location in downtown Boulder, guests will find themselves just steps from both popular dining and shopping at the outdoor, pedestrian-only Pearl St. Mall, and miles of hiking and biking trails at nearby Boulder Creek and beyond. If you are ever in the Boulder area, this is the only hotel you will need to check into, it is a playground for professionals, students and tourists alike.
**I received complimentary services and treatments at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa, however all reviews and opinions are entirely my own**
