Weddings are year round, but summer seems to hit peak starting from the month of May and they are the most fun to dress up for. Recent years, people have been getting more and more elaborate with their planning details and the location of wedding. From beach destination weddings to Hampton garden fairy tales to a luxury black tie festivity at the Plaza I’ve seen just about every type of pretty themes. I’ve partnered with Farfetch to show you guys their latest infographics on wedding guest styles as well as some of my dress choices so that you look stand out without stealing the bride’s thunder.
To be honest, besides wearing all white, there is no real rules on what you can and cannot wear. It all depends on the place where the wedding is taking place. For lavish hotel weddings, usually the couple is paying big bucks to have all the bells and whistles, so it is usually more formal and I personally prefer to dress up for these occasion. A black dress with a lot of sparkles for accessories is my go-to choice. One very popular wedding style in L.A. is beach weddings because duh, it is LA! Many brides actually have it on the sand so that pretty much rules out any chance for wearing heels. For those, a floor length maxi dress or one with hi-low hemline are perfect with a cute pair of sandals. Some weddings are done at a quint event space and very intimate and super cute. For those, I like short and bright dresses that fits the mood as those weddings usually end up with all night dance fest and you don’t want to be holding on to your long dresses for fear of tripping over them while you boogie down to Queen Bee’s “Bootylicoius”!
