Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend and adjusting to the end of Day Light Savings. Today I’m going to talk about hair! As some of my regular readers and Instagram followers may know that until this year, I have not colored my hair at all. I wanted a little change so back in February, I colored my hair for the first time since probably pre-college. As much as I tried to protect my hair from feeling dry and frizzy, I still felt that the texture wasn’t the same as before. My ends are drier and more “crispy” and often tangles up.
In September, I did a deep conditioning session at house of dpHUE, my hair felt softer and more manageable. I also got to try a few of the signature dpHUE hair care products such as the Color Boosting Gloss+ Treatment, the ACV hair rinse and leave in conditioner. I also wanted to lighten up my color a little bit more so in the beginning of October, I went back and got my hair colored by A-list celebrity colorist Justin Anderson who’s long list of clients include: Miley Cyrus, Emma Roberts, Leighton Meester, Jennifer Aniston, Ireland Baldwin, Kirsten Dunst, Kristin Cavallari and more.
I asked Justin to “surprise me” with what he thinks is best for my hair and my skin tone and the result was a subtle, layered highlight that looked textured, shiny and not over the top which is exactly what I wanted. I also documented the whole coloring process created my very first Beauty Vlog for my YouTube Channel which you play below. Apologies in advance for the cheesy amateur edit skills, I’m learning how to splice different size medias together. My next vlog will be better!
After my coloring session is done, I also got a bottle of the Argan Oil Therapy to protect my newly colored hair. This Oil is a vitamin-rich powerhouse that glides on easily, can be applied to both wet or dry hair for that added shine and fight frizz. I have been using it to nourish my hair and am so pleased to see that my hair quality hasn’t gone down since I’ve colored it. Great news for those who wants to try the dpHUE line, they are available on both Sephora and ULTA so it is super easy to shop. I have linked some of my personal favorite products for your consideration!
