Let’s be honest, the blogger’s life can seem glamorous but it is also very superficial and sometimes lonely. No one outside of the bloggersphere really knows what’s going on and what you really do except that you “get free stuff” and “attends events”. So it is pretty nice when you met another blogger who is not fake or superficial and genuinely wants to just get to know you. I met Lisa from Pretty Little Shoppers at a Simply Stylist event last year and I recognized her because we also follow each on Chictopia. We’ve exchanged info and because friends.
Recently we had a blogger date and explored Platform LA, a hip and up-and-coming lifestyle destination in Culver City. We ate tacos, ate ice cream, and explored the shops and discussed current fashion trends. So follow along on our blogger date and see what Spring fashion must haves we recommend. It also helps that Shopbop is having their a It’s that time again for a MAJOR Shopbop sale going on right now and I’ve hand picked some great pieces that would go along with our Spring Fashion Style Trends. Shopbop sale started today April 11th at 7:00AM Eastern Time (New York) and will last through 11:59PM Pacific Time (Los Angeles) Friday 4/14 so don’t miss out.
For our blogger date, Lisa wore a cute embroidered top with pleated skirt and I wore a crop sweater with denim mini. Embroidery is pretty much a spring trend staple now. Whether it is on an embroidered dress, a top, denim jacket or jeans, I see them everywhere. I wore a denim skirt that is emblished with faux pearl details because I love intricate details on basic pieces.
I also noticed that this season, instead of a simple crossbody, girls are opting for a Top Handle Statchel which can also be carried, giving more options in terms of styling. My little bucket bag has a cool metallic ring that can be used as handles. I’ve rounded up some cute options for consideration below.
While we were walking around Platform, we came upon Linda Farrow store. Those that aren’t familiar, it is a luxury sunglasses retailer that carries all of the top hot trendy shades. Of course, we cannot miss the opportunity to go in and try on a few. I can’t say that I love all of the ones I tried on, the one I did fell in love with cost over $1000!! The trend I did notice is that in the coming Spring and Summer, statement sunglasses will be quite popular. Edgy designs, bold tinted shades, embellished frames, anything that draws attention to the face will be popular. Check out some of my wonderful finds below, some of them are less than $60!!
