Rejoice my beauty mavens! Clarins just launched their SOS Primer Collection in the beginning of February and I got my hands on a few to try and review. While some people say that foundation is the most important in keeping the face looking pore-less and flawless, I would argue that a good primer is more important because with a great primer, it not only makes the foundation last longer, look smoother and more natural, it can also make your face look dewy and glowing. And that is exactly what I found in these SOS Primers.
The velvety texture of the primers in the collection smooths the skin surface and extends the durability of the makeup applied on top of it. They also give skin moisture for 24 hours, thanks to an organic milk extract containing in the formula for a light fresh oil-free texture to let the skin breath and you won’t have any flakiness or greasy feeling from using it. Adding icing on the cake, the anti-pollution complex formula is powered by Organic Sea Lily extract the new SOS primers deliver 24 hour hydration and protection from environmental aggressors. The new collection consist of six (6) primers each designed to target a certain skin care concern so your face is primed to perfection.
Universal Light (White) – Boosts radiance
White is a color that is fully reflected and diffuses all wavelengths of light visible. When placed on the skin, the white shade of the primer gives the skin a beautiful glow, lightens and smooths the skin.
Rose (Pink) – Minimizes signs of fatigue
This lacquer-pink primer neutralizes areas with a dull or oval complexion on the skin of the face and gives it a fresh, refined look. It is also perfect for use under the eyes to obscure any imperfections.
Peach (Beige) – Blurs imperfections
This primer comes in a beige shade and is actually used as a kind of concealer, whose function is to hide and blur various skin defects, such as bluntness, protruding capillaries and unevenness in skin color.
Coral (Coral) – Visibly minimizes dark spots
A primer with a light orange hue, designed to obscure pigmentation spots and skin blemishes.
Green (Green) – Diminishes redness
A greenish primer designed to neutralize redness and give the skin a calm and balanced look. The primer can also be used to obscure acne, blemishes or red spots.
Lavender (Purple) – Visibly brightens sallow skin
Lavender Primer is used to neutralize yellowish tints in the skin. The primer also helps to neutralize dark spots under the eyes and dark spots on tanned and/or dark skin.
I selected 00 Universal Light and 02 Peach (Beige) to try out. Peach blurs imperfections and Universal Light for that overall radiance and as you can see from my color swatch, Peach blended perfectly into my skin making it an ideal primer to cover up dark spots, uneven tones. Universal Light gave off a subtle sheen and I like to add it into my foundation for a great natural glow or dab a little on my cheekbones as a highlighter. The velvety texture just melted away as I blend it into my skin and I love how soft it leaves my skin. I would absolutely love to try other colors as well because I can easily see myself using the Lavender or Pink when I have a rough night or Coral and Green when pesky zits flare up. What do you guys think of the new primers from Clarins? Would you try it out? Personally I think you really should because you will fall in love with them.
