LBD – Little Black Dress has become the staple of every woman. Even if you don’t like dressing up, you probably have a solid, safe black dress somewhere in your closet that you can take out and wear for some kind of event or gathering. I have a few LBDs in my closet in various style and material and cut. Since LBD is usually the “safe” choice at a gathering, it doesn’t get much head turn as say the wow-ing red dress or the dazzling sequin gown. But, last week, I attended my husband’s company holiday party in a LBD and gotten so many compliments and it is all because of the unique “Deconstructed” cut.
You see, I discovered this dress on my party go-to website: Revolve and stumbled up on this dress for only $128. The deconstructed shoulder details caught my eye, it look as if the dress is slipping off the shoulder but it is actually perfectly draped at the upper arm. It also bode an asymmetrical hem line for an interesting visual. I cannot tell you how many people came up to me during the event and said “I like your dress, it looks so interesting even though it is black”. Styling tip: when you are wearing a black dress but want to draw subtle attention to yourself, consider wearing a different cut or an interesting inlay such as lace, sheer or metallic.
Of course, with this special LBD, I need a pair of heels that is equally special. I have been eyeing the Christian Louboutin Follie Strass for the longest time because I am in love with the mesh box embellished with crystals and beads. But the price tag of $1500 keeps me at bay. But when I saw this gorgeous pair of illusion pump from Bella Belle Shoes, I was in love. Not only does it look really similar to the Follie, but it is also a fraction of the price!! This looks so gorgeous on the feet, and makes me feel like a Cinderella with my glass slippers. Girls, if you haven’t checked out Bella Belle Shoes, you def need to because the gorgeous selections will blow you away!
