I must confess I wear many hats and I’m sure I’m not alone. I am a mother, a wife, a woman, a caregiver, a lover, a fighter, a crybaby. I am soft and I am cruel; I have rules and I do not abide by them. I can reign in the corporate world and come home and scrub the floor where my child threw up. I will play the “bad cop” and lay down the house rules, and weep in silence as I stare at my beautiful kids’ faces sound asleep. As a women, we are so many things and there is no one role that defines us.
I have been a long fan of Everlane not only for their modern, clean, super wearable everyday basics at almost factory-direct prices but also their business model – Radical Transparency: Know your factories. Know your costs. Always ask why. When you shop on Everlane, the price of each piece of clothing is broken down to the exact penny for the cost of material, labor, hardware, duties and transportation. You know where the wool is coming from and where the silk is manufactured. Each sweater, each shirt, each bag is crafted with precision ensuring the quality.
Their silk shirts are dense and luxurious, and their $100 cashmere crews are feathery soft and cozy. Their leather bags are buttery smooth to the touch. Their cashmere Mini‘s makes you want to give big bear hugs to your kiddos a thousand times. I can wear their outfit pieces to work and feel sharp and confident in the corporate environment. I can also wear the same outfit with jeans and enjoy the most perfect weekend with my kids. I am not defined by what I wear but my role at that moment. I am an Everlane woman and I am an Everlane Mom.

Finishing this post with one of my favorite passages of all time: The Thunder, Perfect Mind – Translated by George W. MacRae
For I am knowledge and ignorance.
I am shame and boldness.I am shameless;
I am ashamed.I am strength and I am fear.
I am war and peace.
Give heed to me.
