Since Prince A was 8/9 month old, I have started taking him grocery shopping every Sunday morning. It has became our weekly ritual rain or shine; even when I was heavily pregnant at 9 month with the second baby, we still went every Sunday. Now that I have two child, this became one of our exclusive time together. In the beginning, he would sit there, not knowing what is going on but extremely intrigued by all the colorful things around him as we go down each isle. Now he would pick out things he wants to eat, or tell me what to make during the week; his palate has also evolved quite a bit.
從兒子八九個月開始我便和他每個禮拜天的早晨去買菜。
To me, I think it is a great bonding time for mother and kids to go grocery shopping, it is time that you can spend with them together and also a great learning and teaching opportunity. I used the shopping experience to teach him the different fruits and vegetables and foods and also educate him on healthy eating habits so that he is aware of what is good versus junk food. Prince A can now correctly identify most of the fruits and veggies and say them in both English and Chinese. Of course, occasionally I would indulge him in a few treats that he wants such as his favorite – ice cream.

Aw these photos are so cute! This was at the Grove? I love how there’s so much food selection, but it’s so hard to find a good place sit down. Haha.

Yes, we love going to the Grove and the food selection is great! We are usually there early enough that seating isn’t an issue, weekend is usually a zoo there. xo Sheree
