Happy Friday Everyone!! Continuing my Holiday Wonderland, A holiday fairy-tale told through fashion series featuring Top 5 Holiday Dress Trends, if you missed last week’s introduction, you can still find it Here.
I had so much fun dressing and styling this super rich and beautiful Velvet Dress. I know people of petite sizes tend to shy away from velvet because the fabric is so dense and hard to heavy and have a tendency to overpower. I want to show petite girls that long velvet dress can def work on a small frame as long as you choose the right silhouette and the right accessories. I picked Y Necklace to go with the plunge neckline and the side slits revealing a little skin. And of course, my favorite brand for fun and eye catching heels Aquazzura Sandals did not disappoint in delivering this bedazzled disco ball lace up to draw attention away from the dense fabric. Although I’m only 5’2″ I wore the dress and didn’t let it wear me.
Continued from last week. The butterflies lead the girl to a big room filled with windows and light, where she found a woman sleeping. “That’s the dark Queen of Velvet” wispers the butterflies,”help us take away her dark power and free the good queen by take off her shoes!” The queen started to wake up and the butterflies scurried away in fear.
The Queen of Velvet looked at the girl and asked “Who are you and what are you doing here? If you are here to steal my shoes, I will turn you into a butterfly and trap you here forever!” The girl cleverly said, “No my queen, I’m here to entertain you and dance for you.” Amused, the queen asked the girl to dance for her and when she saw how beautiful her movements are, the queen wanted to learn how to move just like the girl. “Teach me your dance little one”.
The girl shows the queen how to dance and the two of them twirled and twirled and moved from floor to floor. Alas, the Queen of Velvet felt fatigue and has had enough; her feet was tired and sore from all the dancing. “Why don’t you rest your feet and take off those heels?” suggested the girl. The idea sounded so good to the queen that she took off her heels at once without much thinking.
As soon as the Queen of Velvet took of her beautiful bedazzled heels, the girl snatched it up and ran out of the room as fast as she could. “No! Come back here with my shoes!” screamed the queen, but she is powerless and cannot move a step. Without her heels, the dark Queen of Velvet remain trapped in the room and have no where to go. The butterflies came back and guided the girl to another room where she will find the good queen. To Be Continued….
Hope you guys enjoy the series so far and please stay tuned next week for more!

The dress, the shoes, where do I look at first? It is all to die for. I am looking for a similar, dark-hued crushed velvet maxi dress, like yours. Those shoes are slaying, too! Your best holiday look, yet, I think!
