Fashion trends typically have a shelf life of a snowman in a desert, certain things could be hot one minute and then tossed to the side like a bad leftover. Some trends, however, keep coming back year after year and become a classic. With autumn in full gear, I’m styling the classic Plaid shirt with some high/low fashion mixology showcasing its versatility across the coasts by mixing high end fashion with affordable pieces from JCPenney in their “Worthy Fashion Tips” #SoWorthIt fall fashion campaign.
We all can agree that looking polished and put together doesn’t always have to mean spending big bucks if you know what pieces to splurge on and what trendy everyday fashion to steal at a budget. JCPenney offers on-trend affordable pieces that are both stylish and great everyday value. A broad assortment of products from leading private, exclusive and national brands are available, a one-stop shopping destination.
Today, I will show you “How to style the Classic Plaid Shirt” whether you live on the West Coast, East Coast or Midwest with several carefully curated pieces from JCPenney’s variety of trendy, affordable selections at great price points including this A.N.A. Front Tab Blouse that retails for only *$19.99* which is great to wear on its own or layered under a jacket or cardigan (which I will demonstrate).
First look is tailored to the West Coast, especially like LA (where I am) we don’t get much of “Fall”; it is hot during the day and cools down as soon as the sun sets. We live off our ankle boots because over the knee is a bit much during October when you walk on the streets and people are still wearing tank top and flip flops. Matching my faux suede warp skirt with the plaid blouse and ankle boots to create this effortless utility look, and of course, the classic denim jacket to throw on when the temperature drops.
I’ve spent some time in the Midwest when I went to U of M. Fall is absolutely beautiful with rich colors and lush foliage. Outfits are more about being functional yet still stylish versus making a fashion statement. This Worthington drop shoulder cardigan comes in 5 colors is perfect to layer with the plaid blouse. Since we are talking about mixing high fashion and budget friendly costs, the classic over the knee boots that I’ve worn HERE slides perfectly over grey skinny jeans to complete the look and these boots are definitely made for walking.
Finally, who says city girls can’t wear plaids? To create the East Coast style I mixed leather and plaids with these vegan leather pants and faux suede front draped jacket with the A.N.A. blouse. Add a pair of sky high nude pumps and a chic black leather clutch, no one will mistaken you for country when you strut down West Village. The soft and drappy jacket felt so smooth and luxe, one could easily mistaken it for a designer brand that cost 10 times more.
Overall, I was quite impressed by the variety, quality and affordability of these worthy fashion tops from JCPenney, they are so wearable and best of all, don’t break the bank #SoWorthIt!! I hope you enjoyed these fashion tips on How To Style Plaids From Coast to Coast. Let me know which look is your favorite and what fashion styles and trends inspires you!
