Hi guys and dolls. We finally have a tiny taste of winter-ish weather this week when we got our first rain of the season. It is just so crazy how global warming is affecting the climate and how we live. While the east coast have been plagued with new snow storms named “Bomb Cyclone” something that you hear in comic books, us folks on the west coast are experiencing hot summer like weather. Besides that two day of torrential rain earlier this week, temperature have slowly crawled up into the 70s and 80s this weekend. I really hope that we can start protecting the environment more so that our kids and their kids can still enjoy the nature and planet earth.
Ok, enough politics waxing. The outfit I have on today was something I planned to wear when I drove up to Big Bear Lake on Wednesday. I was so excited that Big Bear finally had snow this season and had to go see it for myself (more on my actual trip in a later post) I knew the temperature is colder up in the mountains and it is the perfect chance to bring out my teddy bear coat. I’ve been seeing so many people wear this styled coats and jackets and it is so darling. I had a vintage one that my mother gave me, I’ve been wearing it since college. But my mom took it with her to China and I have to look for one for myself. Luckily, I found the perfect one and it was on sale for only $25 during the holidays, it comes in 3 color options.
I didn’t get to wear this coat while I was in Big Bear because the temperature was actually warmer than I expected and I was roasting in this coat. Well, I hope that when the weather finally get to winter, I will take it out for a spin. Mean while, I did break into the Christian Louboutin Glorymount boots that I got last year up in the mountain. These combat boots stayed in their box for an entire year and finally got to see day light. They are lined with faux fur and keeps the feet and ankle super warm while the sturdy rubber sole and spiked heels keeps a good grip on the slippery snowy ground. Best part is I got these fresh off eBay for $600 (ok….steep, but compared to $1600 retail it is a bargain). I guess I need to find more opportunities to wear them to get my money’s worth.
Thank you all for reading!
