Christmas is only a week away and before you know it, you have to pick out something festive to wear for New Years Eve! I noticed that I have been wearing a lot of jewel colored dresses as of late versus the usual black, red or neutral dresses and I am loving it! I think a good jewel toned dress with the right elevated jewelries can make a bigger impact and draws more attentions at a party because of the unexpectedness.
Emerald or Forest Green
I love the Forest Green color, it is rich, deep and a perfect choice for those who love to wear black. The earthiness of the emerald green color brings out a certain level of stateliness and luxury. I like to pair bold and contrasting colors for accessories such as white or red to tie the whole look together but keeping everything else simple and minimal like something from AUrate New York like a nice statement stack-able ring. There were so many inquiries about these two dresses when I posted them on my Instagram and I’ve linked them below.
Purple or Magenta
How to wear Purple is something that I often get asked. Yes I agree that it is not an easy color to wear and people feel intimidated to not get swallowed whole by the amount of pigments and fabric on the dresses. The trick is to keep the silhouette of the dress simple and minimal. You don’t want to walk around looking like a vine of freshly picked grape. The accessories you pair with the purple dress should also be kept minimal and chic. I personal love a nice layering necklace to go with the dress.
Okay, admit-tingly, Royal Blue is a pretty safe color under the jewel tone family, but it still have a great appeal because it is not exactly black but dark enough so that those who doesn’t want to attract too much attention can still show a bit of color. Who can forget the blue Jenny Packman dress the Dutches wore to her engagement photo? The silhouette and cut is very simple but the color really stood out in photos with her blue sapphire ring. Whenever I wear a navy or royal blue dress, I like to pair with some gold earrings, something that dangles and shines with a slight movement of head to bring out your glow.
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with parties and fun festivities and looking gorgeous and fabulous!
Thank you all for reading!
