I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween. I have been so busy today with all the kid’s activities as well as trying to do the most elaborate makeup I have ever done. You see, as much as I indulge in elaborate skincare routines and various masks, I have not taken to makeup in the past. In fact, I have even tried to wear minimal amount of makeup after I’ve had two kids. I think I only wear makeup when there is a special occasion now or when I am out dining with a crowd.
Today is a special treat because I have been so enchanted by the Day of the Dead from my most Mexico trip that I have decided to dress up as one of the ladies and also paint my face accordingly. Now mind you that I have never worn heavy theater makeup, nor attempted any makeup tutorials. I have found some makeup photos that I thought might be easy to replicate with minimal effort and I’ve decided to give this Day of the Dead makeup look a try.
Boy was I wrong about makeup artists. What I thought would be an hour to an hour and half tops to replicate turned out to be almost three. I have so much respect for makeup artists and their crafts after this trial. You can check out everything I used to create this look on my Instagram post from brands to products. But for the time being, I will leave it at the fact that while I won’t be doing makeup full time, I will try to have more fun with it and create more looks because it is so much fun.
