I am no stranger to luxury traveling and I can count the brand of hotels that is both internationally recognized for luxury accommodation and exceptional service. From that small pool, the number of hotel properties that have great program for kids is even smaller and the Ritz Carlton brand have always been one of the top. When we are traveling in Denver Colorado for family vacation with our in-laws, they offered to take the kids off our hands so that husband and I can have a “vacation within a vacation”, I wanted to stay somewhere in downtown Denver that is both within close proximity of all the hustle and bustle of Denver but also somewhere that is very kid friendly so that we can have the kids over for visit as needed.
Ritz Carlton Denver welcomed our little family with wide open arms and made us feel like home away from home. To start, husband and I checked in first after my visit to the Denver Art Museum while the kids were at the near by Kids Museum. This hotel has won numerous awards such as Best Luxury Hotels in Denver, Best Kid-Friendly Hotels in Denver, Most Romantic Hotels in Denver and more and we were beyond surprised of what goodies awaits us. The newly renovated lobby of the Ritz Carlton Denver looked upscale and sophisticated with large welcoming and vibrant center pieces. The staircase leads to a large chandelier by Robert Kuster, a former student of famed glassblower Dale Chihuly. My favorite is the Ritz Kids check in.
Upon entering our one bedroom suite, I was greeted by the largest suites offered in Denver, my one bedroom suite is a whopping 1,000 square feet with upscale flare, plush beds, big soaking tubs, and separate walk-in showers. But the best is seeing the special touches the Ritz Carlton Denver team did for our family welcoming the kids. They set up a tent completely with equally plush and luxury pillows, toys for them to play, books to read at night and decedent treats that the kids squealed with delight when they saw it.
For the adults, we got chocolate covered strawberries and a lovely welcome note from the team. I took the opportunity to do some Instastory showing off my great escape and enjoyed my peace and quiet before the kids arrive and join us for dinner. I’m going to let my photos do some of the talking and take you along a virtual tour of our room.
Relaxing and chill right? Of course, I must introduce you to their 400-thread-count Frette linens, feather beds and down comforters in the bedroom. Although I brought my laptop with me to trying to squeeze in some “work” but it pretty much went out the door and all I wanted to do is to snuggle underneath the cover.
If you think the bedroom is huge, the bathroom also can house a small family. I personally love a luxury bathroom and the fact that there is enough room to put a separate seated vanity in the little hallway is just so extra!! But what women doesn’t like to sit and leisurely paint her face after a delicious soak in the tub?
Speaking of vanity and bath, the Ritz Carlton Denver also have a lovely spa service at the spa level. The Ritz-Carlton Spa features over 6,000 square feet of tranquil space, eight treatment rooms, including a couples room with a private suite and bathroom, and a Vichy wet treatment room. All the treatment rooms include Tempurpedic beds and choice of aroma therapy essential oils. Guests also have free access to TruFit, a privately owned fitness center in the same building, with free fitness classes, an indoor lap pool, a basketball court, and rock climbing wall.
I am concluding the mini tour of the hotel ground as well as our room with the kids enjoying their tent and having a blast playing in it and I can honestly say that this tent was the highlight for both of them. I am truly amazed by the team going above and beyond making even their littlest guests feel welcome. And for you family travelers with babies, they also have cribs so that you don’t need to bring yours. Call in advance and arrange for it to be delivered to your room even before you arrive.
Part I of the Ritz Carlton Denver review is done. In Part II I will be covering their Club Level Lounge as well as the many great eats within the hotel and find out why my steak loving husband proudly proclaims that the rib eye at Elway is one of the best steak he has had as well as my faux pas mishap at the Club Level Lounge that turned heads in the next post.
