About 2 weeks ago husband and I went to a wedding in Philly for one of his good friends. Since both of us have been to Philadelphia in the past, we didn’t schedule much time for sightseeing or shopping or anything else for that matter. Our 36 hours whirlwind trip was pretty much Airport –> Hotel –> Wedding –> Hotel –> Airport with 6 of these hours dedicated entirely to the wedding. If you watched my instastory for that weekend, you would have know how incredibly fun, crazy and eclectic it was.
We wanted to stay at a hotel that is close to the wedding venue but also sleek and modern much to our style and enter Sofitel Philadelphia. Conveniently located next to the famous Rittenhouse Square and amid the city’s main business and shopping areas lies a spacious, modern and luxurious property. Sofitel Philly is the recipient of the Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame Award from TripAdvisor; an award granted only to the hotels that have won the certificate of excellence five years in a row.
Upon entering the elegant lobby, one is can rest and grab a drink at the Chez Colette Restaurant or Liberté Cocktail Lounge. Our room, The Prestige Suites, offer 600 square feet of space and feature a living room with sofa bed and a bedroom with one King Sofitel Bed feathertop and duvet sleep system. Fully stocked minibar, LCD flat-panel television with laptop connection, a work desk and comfortable sitting area with coffee table stocked with Nespresso machine completes the luxury amenities one would expect for a room this calibur.
A connecting marble bathroom with separate shower and tub, filled with Hermes toiletries and plush bathrobes and slippers. There is also a separate vanity table completely with chair and mirror which provided the perfect space for me to get ready for the wedding without having to fight with my husband for counter space. And with many thoughtful add-ons such as complimentary WiFi, a top-of-the-line gym, 24 room service and many more, I started to feel at home even during this short stay.
Our stay at Sofitel Philadelphia may be short, but it was filled with pampering, wonderful customer service and my god those pillowtop feather beds were comfortable!! I am pretty sure that the next time we travel to Philly, Sofitel Philadelphia will be on the top of our list for accommodations and if you are in the area, make sure you stop by the hotel and sit by the warm fireplace and enjoy a glass of wine.
Wow! That hotel looks amazing. So beautiful.
Ooooo I love all those touches – the chocolates, the welcome note etc. The room looks so glamorous. Well done Sofitel – that’s a beautiful hotel! xx Maria
