During Valentine’s Day, the preschool that Prince A attends asks the children to make Valentine’s treats to exchange with other kids in his class. We all know that moms have a ton of things to do already and taking the extra time to make those little treat requires more effort. Today I’m going to show you a super simple and easy DIY treat idea that you can do with your little tot that will for sure make him/her super popular at school – Cookie Pops!!
“I don’t like cookies”, said no kids ever. So I decide to make cookies with a twist – on lollipop sticks so they look super cool cookie pops for Prince A. For the busy moms, you can purchase prepackaged cookies or for the moms who are more gourmet, you can mix your own cookie dough. I choose sugar cookie because they are more easy to decorate, more on that later. Follow the simple steps below and you will have those treats ready in less than an hour!!
What you need:
1-2 Packs of prepackaged cookies (depending on needs)
1 Packet of lollipop sticks
1 Bag of Valentine’s themed M&Ms
Ribbons or tags
Follow the instructions on the cookie package and make the cookies accordingly. The sugar cookies calls for baking on 350F for 11-15 minutes. I know my oven has high power so I set the timer for 12 minutes and it came out perfectly.
When the cookies are done, remove them from the oven and slide the cookies out with parchment paper underneath, lay them on a flat surface so that you can insert the lollipop sticks and the M&M decorations.
**The trick is to insert the sticks and the candies while the cookie is still hot and soft on the inside so that when they congeal the stick and candies will harden with it.** Make sure you insert the sticks all the way across the cookie without poking through so that there is more surface for itself to attach to the cookie. You don’t want the cookie to fall off.
