Hey NY people, hope you are staying in and staying warm in the snow storm. I’m not going to brag about the 70 degree picnic weather we are having in LA. Let’s talk fashion. Soon after Christmas, I’ve noticed that local drug stores and markets have started to display for the next big holiday – Valentine’s Day. Although I am a little uneasy with the marketing vomit with the balloons, stuffed dolls and chocolates, I must admit that the guerrilla campaign does work on the psyche to a certain degree. I think I’ve stopped getting dressy for Valentine’s since my husband and I were on our second year of dating…or was it third year? (that’s how you can tell that you’re already an old married couple BEFORE you got married).
That said, I think have a little additional pop of red in the wardrobe rotation is a good way to spice things up, but I am really picky about a really bright colored item because it really draws the attention of the eyeballs. Maje is one of my recent favorite brands as they have luxe, stylish and wearable pieces with interesting details. Like this mini skirt currently on sale, it has the simple lines of a fitted mini but with memorable bow details and draping that adds texture and chic. Maje also makes super comfy sweaters that is easy to pair, like this sweater also on sale, I have both the grey and yellow and it goes with everything. Wearing one statement piece of red is a good alternative to a red dress or head to toe red. Valentine’s Day is coming soon, hope you guys feel inspired to show your style.
