Happy Wednesday Everyone!! If you’ve been reading my last post and also following me on Snapchat, you will know my recent woe of Miss K experiencing night terrors, thus resulting in very little sleep for poor mommy. I have grand plan for this week’s Inspo, but given the amount I’ve been sleeping and the amount of work I still have at hand, I will save that for a later post.
So my Instastory and Snap has been filled with posts from fashionistas that attended the Revolve Winter Formal!! It was such a glamorous and fashion filled shingdig and I’ve been so enamored by all the beautiful dresses I’ve seen from the soiree, I thought I’d do a Top 5 Holiday Dress Trends to help you get ready for all the holiday parties and festivities to come.
Trend – Velvet
Velvet has been sweeping the fashion industry as of late. From tops to dresses to trousers and blazers, it is pretty much EVERYWHERE. Velvet is such a rich fabric, it looks great whether it is short or long. Expect to see LOTS of it this coming party season.
Trend – Metallic
If my previous post eludes to my holiday preference, it would be something metallic related. I love a little bit of shimmer and shine without the full bling and glamour of sequins. I love a good metallic skirt but from the Revolve Winter Formal, fashionistas have been wearing it almost in all forms.
Trend – Lace
Of course, lace has been a classic but I’m seeing a lot of lace jumpsuits and lace turtlenecks. They are great for looking ladylike without looking grandma-like. Stick to simple silhouettes and styles to keep things classy and elegant. No one wants to look like a walking Victorian table clothes.
Trend – Sequin
Ok, I get it, sequin and metallic kinda go hand in hand, however, in my book of fashion and styles, sequin is more va va voom glam and bling bling. It is high shine, high energy, look-at-me entrance maker. If you decide to do sequin this season, consider a jumpsuit to make a bold statement or if you want little glam, an elegant dress is always a good option without looking like a walking disco ball.
Trend – Slip Dress
Slip dresses are BIG on the Revolve Winter Formal red carpet. I’ve seen it in forms of velvet, satin, metallic and sequin. It is THE silhouette to wear for an elegant entrance. You really can’t do any wrong with this simple yet classy style at any festive gatherings.
