Picture this: emergency personnel diligently tending to a patient inside Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville when unknown to them, Trey Cornwell, 29, makes his move.
Seizing the opportunity, Cornwell hijacked a Hernando County Fire & Emergency Services ambulance. He drove it around 8 miles to Port Court in Spring Hill.
However, his grand plan takes an unexpected turn when the ambulance gets stuck in the sand and dirt near a body of water. Cornwell abandons the ship and makes a hasty escape, only to be arrested shortly after.
Florida man April 4 – The Fireball Fiasco on the Fairway
Enter Dean Hooks, not your average golfer but a man on a golf cart with a love for Fireball whiskey.
Caught napping at a red light, Hooks, disoriented and reeking of alcohol became the center of attention for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon closer inspection, authorities discovered an open 1.75-liter bottle of Fireball on the seat next to Hooks. Two breathalyzer tests later, with results soaring above the legal limit, Hooks found himself facing a DUI charge.
Florida man April 4 – A Mix-Up Turns Menacing
Our final tale took a darker turn as a 21-year-old Florida Man named Kevin Mena unleashed his aggression on a 66-year-old tourist with Parkinson’s disease.
Mistakenly attempting to enter Mena’s vehicle in a shopping plaza parking lot, the tourist became the victim of an unprovoked attack.
Mena, then pushed the confused tourist from behind, causing multiple broken teeth and a possible fractured nose. The daughter, loading groceries nearby, was horrified as she heard her father’s scream. Mena quickly fled the scene, but law enforcement caught up with him shortly after.
Mena was charged with aggravated battery and battery on someone over 65.
