Are you looking to learn how to clean a kitchen sink? If so, you aren’t alone! The kitchen is the core of most people’s homes, so it likely sees the most traffic.

For a faster, more efficient sink, keep reading to learn how to clean the kitchen sink like a pro.

Supplies You’ll Need

Assuming you already have dish soap and a sponge, here are a few other supplies that can make cleaning the kitchen sink like a pro a reality:

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a natural cleaning agent that can be used on almost any surface. When mixed with water, it forms a paste that can be used to scrub away dirt and grime.

White Vinegar

Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that can help remove bacteria and grime. To clean with vinegar, simply mix equal parts vinegar and water in a bowl and then use a cloth to apply it to your sink.

Lemon and Salt

Mix together 1/2 cup of lemon juice with 1/4 cup of salt. Pour the mixture into your kitchen sink and let it sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn on the hot water and let it run for a few minutes.

Toothbrush

Use the toothbrush to get to the nook and crannies. You want to make sure that you are scrubbing the sink in a circular motion. This will help to ensure that you are getting all of the dirt and grime off of the sink.

The Four-Step Process

It can seem daunting at first and you’ll feel like you’ll want to get it shiny and new your first time. The four-step process to clean it like is as follows.

First, rinse the sink with hot water to loosen any food particles or residue. Next, mix a quarter cup of baking soda with hot water to form a paste then apply it to the sink with a sponge and scrub in a circular motion.

Rinse the sink with hot water then mix a half cup of vinegar with hot water and pour it into the sink. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it with hot water again.

How to Prevent Future Problems

Elbow grease is the most important ingredient because even the best cleaners won’t do much if you’re not willing to scrub. Many all-purpose cleaners will damage the sink’s finish.

Don’t let your sink sit for days without cleaning it, and be sure to wipe it down after every use. With a little bit of care, your stainless steel sink will stay sparkling for years to come.

You also need to hire a professional. A professional like Dirt Busters House Cleaning will have the necessary equipment and cleaning supplies to clean your sink properly and will be able to prevent any damage.

Learn How to Clean the Kitchen Sink Today
