There are several types of HVAC systems that you have to choose from for your property. This guide covers the common options.

What Are the Types of HVAC Systems for Houses?

Posted on by Jenni

Each home is different. You can’t apply the same standard blueprint to every house. There has to be some kind of customization that goes into the process if you want it to work how you want it to work.

That applies to HVAC installation as much as it applies to the design of the house. There are a ton of different types of HVAC systems out there, but not everyone is well-suited for every house.

So let’s take a look at some of the main types and see what they can do for your home.

Central Forced Air Systems

Central Forced Air Systems (CFAs) provide many benefits to homes. They are an efficient way to keep the air clean, reduce energy costs, and cool or heat a home. The system uses one or more fans to circulate air.

Air is forced through strategically placed air vents, eliminating dust, pollen, and other airborne contaminants. Temperatures in the home can be easily adjusted and maintained throughout the day. CFA systems are also energy efficient, resulting in low energy bills.

They use the same amount of electricity to move the same amount of air, regardless of the temperature, this means less energy is required to reach and stay at the desired temperature. CFA systems are also relatively inexpensive to install and require minimal maintenance.

Split HVAC

Home HVAC units like split are becoming increasingly popular in households due to their energy efficiency and capacity to heat and cool rooms. These systems are designed to be quiet, reliable, and long-lasting. They also come with a variety of options such as zone control, spot cooling, and energy efficiency settings, which allow you to customize your environment.

These systems offer advanced air cleaning and dehumidification to provide a healthy living environment. Moreover, the cost of installing a split HVAC system is far less than the cost of purchasing separate heating and cooling units.

Also, homeowners should consider having their split HVAC units duct sealed. It is the process of sealing joints, seams, and connections. It is done to prevent any leakage of conditioned air, so better start your research to know more about duct sealing.

Geothermal

Geothermal HVAC systems are an excellent choice for home use. Not only are these systems more energy efficient than traditional HVAC systems, but they also use the steady temperature of the earth to keep your home comfortable year-round.

Geothermal systems are powered by electricity and use a series of pipes below the ground to transfer energy, enabling the system to heat or cool air before it is circulated through the home. This eliminates the need to spend energy supplied by non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels. These are highly reliable and need fewer repairs due to their simple design.

Types Of HVAC Systems: Which One Is Right For You?

According to your particular needs and the environmental conditions, it is easy to decide the right types of HVAC systems for your home. Consider the efficiency, operational cost, space, and other factors before making the final decision.
